Verion 1.5 sees the light.

A perfect storm, three giants hit at once. Apple OS3 for the iPhone builds hope for easy wifi login - Starbucks changes to userID and password login, and the portal provider has an SSL certificate issue. All in the span of just a few days.

What a scramble - well the hacks are all in the 1.5 version. It is not pretty yet but it works.

Some report that the please wait dialog is not going away even though it looks like the pages below have changed and may even be done. Simply close the app and open it again. If the first try had worked the second load will quickly detect you are on the Internet.

This version uses your userID and password and so in settings you should change to use this new information (if you had older versions with card numbers and pin settings).

Enjoy version 1.5 while we work on some of the little things as fixes in our next release.

Coffee Shop Canada - LIVE on iTunes

Happy to announce that the little utility app is now available on the iTunes store. Everyone who ever uses Starbucks Canada can make use of this little gizmo.

We built it for a number of reasons.

1) This login for Starbucks is a pain to enter, can it be made easier for the iTouch and iPhone?
2) How do you build an iPhone app anyhow?
3) We drink coffee there often enough?

Yup - good reasons. So we built it. Here is a link to app on the iTunes store (so click from your computer with iTunes installed - ok?). When it loads click the icon to get more details on the app. We will be building up the www.mcyork.com/iphone page with more info as we close out the beta program that was hosted there.

Please grab a copy, it is only 99 cents. We'd like to have many little reasons to build more apps.

Coffee Shop Canada (iPhone app)

Almost there. Today we got the last few hoops jumped. Now we wait so see if we wrote code that will be approved for posting on the iTunes store. Cross your fingers.

Alpha to iBeta now just a few days away

It has taken until today for us to build an Alpha version worthy of being called an iBeta version. It is great when the code no longer blows up or calls you nasty names. It is now quite well behaved we think.

Next week the iBeta group that have singed up so far will be getting the chance to use the spanking new iBeta version on their iTouch and iPhone to make WiFi way more fun in the wild concrete jungles we find ourselves in.

Beta program opens its door today

Our McYork Dot Com innovative application has just passed all the rigorous Alpha testing (we care to do ). Today we open the Beta program to those individuals with the right stuff. Click over to the Beta info page and see how you can make a difference (or just say hi - the check box - via the web form so we can contact you when we publish the released version).

The app only works in Canada at the moment. So please understand that Beta testers are currently only needed in Canada.

Regardless of how you feel about testing out an app before it is released - we appriciate your reading this post and keeping us in mind once we release the app to the public and have a link to it on the iTunes Store (gosh we hope so).

Until then - real coffee comes from our good friends on the Big Island, The Fikes.

You've FaceBooked now FOLLOW

I'd like to explore this follow option now available on Blogger. If you read this post please take a few minutes to hook up and follow the blog. You can see a link of the followers on the right navigation bar. If you are lucky you could be the first to follow (me I am following the blog and that does not count I am sure). Yes it is yet one more thing to hook up to an remember - but if you have a Google account already (as you should) you can just click click and there you go.

PS: "the as you should" comment on the Google account can be discussed later - take it on faith - you should all have one by now. It is not JUST email.
